The Edinburgh International Trustees and East District management committee would like to thank everyone for their interest in coming to the Edinburgh International this year. We recognise that the weather prevented a number from being able to attend. Although the weather was exceptional, we intend to follow our usual procedures where a swimmer is genuinely unable to attend the meet (and is forced to withdraw) and to refund entry fees for the swims affected.
Adverse weather and medical refunds
Apologies for the delay in contacting clubs about this but we have had to think through the best way to do this as, with over 1400 swimmers entered into the meet originally, this is a significant administrative task. We ask that clubs assist by :
1) submitting a claim for any entry fees from their club where the swimmer(s) were unable to travel to Edinburgh because of weather and transport difficulties. Please provide details of the swimmers and events that the claim covers. Do not add in claims for over sub’d swims as many of these have already been paid back, or will be added to your new claim if not collected at the meet.
2) sending a stamped addressed envelope to our treasurer James Laird at Bien Faite, 23 Bridge Street Saline, Fife KY12 9TS, with your club’s name marked on the outside. Unfortunately we are unable to pay refunds electronically. You will receive a cheque in return and we ask that you pass it on to individuals on our behalf.
Please note, all claims should be submitted by 30 April 2018.
Refunds of entry fees – for those whose entries were over subscribed when the programme was published – were available for coaches to collect at the meet on Sunday afternoon. Any not collected at that time can still be claimed by contacting our treasurer. These will be added, where appropriate, to any other claims submitted.
Please do not submit claims for spectator tickets or coach passes as we did not collect in the payments for these.
