By Rail

Edinburgh Waverley and Haymarket Stations: Red Markers on Map

The city lies on the main east coast rail line, and is accessible by train from throughout the United Kingdom. The two principal stations are Edinburgh Waverley, in central Edinburgh (closest to the pool) and Haymarket (in the west end).

Travel within Edinburgh:

Trams and public buses operate from the airport to the city centre, and buses run throughout the city. Several services from Lothian Buses (2, 14, 30, 33 and 51) stop on Dalkeith Road close to the venue.

Walking: The city centre is quite compact – the Royal Commonwealth Pool is a 15 – 20 minute walk from the Royal Mile (High Street) and Princes Street. With Arthur’s Seat and the Salisbury Crags providing a backdrop to the pool, it provides the perfect landmark for those wishing to enjoy the walk.

Car & Parking: The Royal Commonwealth Pool is accessible by car. There are a limited number of free spaces available in the car park areas on a first come first served basis.

The pool lies just outside the City of Edinburgh Low Emissions Zone, details of which can be found here.

Most of the streets around the pool have restricted or pay at meter parking on Friday and Saturday. For on street car parking, this link brings you to a map which shows restrictions. The closest unrestricted parking areas to the pool lie to the south and east of Priority Parking Area B7 on the map here, about a 10 minute walk from the venue.
